The Canal Monitor 2025 covers the period from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025. The information and insights presennted in this annual report assists in making choices and decisions ahead of the upcoming boating season. The Canal Monitor comprises six chapters and presents a factual overview of the situation regarding waterborne transport, passenger boating, and recreational boating. It also provides information on conditions on the canals, permits issued, and legal matters. The term “canals” refers to Amsterdam’s inland waterways.
As research coordinator for water mobility in Amsterdam my role in this project focused on compiling and visualising data for the last year on water mobility into meaningful analyses through figures, maps and graphs.
